As a Safety Officer, you will play a critical role in developing, implementing, and monitoring our safety programs, conducting risk assessments, and investigating incidents to prevent recurrence. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain effective Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management systems and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of the workplace, machinery, and equipment to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare and present comprehensive safety reports, including incident summaries, safety performance metrics, and compliance status.
- Deliver engaging safety training programs and workshops to employees at all levels, promoting a strong safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local and national HSE regulations and Nestlé's global safety standards.
- Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and availability of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with departmental heads to develop and implement departmental safety objectives and performance targets.
- Manage emergency preparedness and response plans, including fire safety, first aid, and evacuation procedures.
- Monitor contractors' safety performance on-site and ensure adherence to company safety policies.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of safety processes and initiatives within the facility.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Safety Officer or in a similar HSE role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations (e.g., Factories Act, OSHA standards where applicable).
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and hazard identification.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Ability to develop and deliver effective safety training.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ISPON Level 3 & 4).
- Experience with ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System).
- First Aid/CPR certification.
