Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior Site Engineers and Project Managers in the daily supervision and coordination of construction activities on-site.
  • Monitor progress against construction schedules and provide regular updates to the project team.
  • Conduct quality control checks to ensure materials and workmanship comply with project specifications and industry standards.
  • Help prepare and maintain site records, including daily reports, progress logs, and material inventories.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and site personnel to ensure efficient execution of tasks and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Assist in the interpretation of blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications, clarifying details for the construction team.
  • Identify potential site issues and contribute to finding practical solutions under the guidance of senior staff.
  • Participate in site meetings, taking notes and contributing to discussions on project progress and challenges.
  • Support the implementation of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies on-site.
  • Learn to operate and maintain various construction equipment and tools as required.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and working proficiency in English (for technical documentation).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior internship or practical experience in a construction environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) or other engineering design tools.
  • Knowledge of Mozambican building codes and regulations.
  • A valid driver’s license.
