Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Manager to join our dedicated team in Toxteth, Liverpool. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee daily operational activities, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to delivery schedules.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize logistics, reduce costs, and improve service quality.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of operational staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to achieve operational targets.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant industry regulations, health and safety standards, and company policies.
  • Manage operational budgets, track expenditures, and identify areas for financial efficiency.
  • Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure seamless service delivery and resolve any operational issues.
  • Implement and manage continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in an Operations Management role within the logistics or freight industry.
  • Proven track record in managing and optimizing logistics, warehousing, or distribution operations.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent understanding of operational efficiency principles and workflow optimization techniques.
  • Proficiency in using logistics software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK Driving License.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Lean Six Sigma or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with compliance and regulatory frameworks within the transport sector.
  • Local knowledge of the Liverpool area and surrounding transport networks.
