Your day-to-day will involve navigating the complexities of both international and domestic freight, working closely with a diverse network of carriers, customs brokers, and internal operational teams to manage all aspects of shipments. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor the movement of freight from origin to destination, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and commercial invoices.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, customs officials, and internal departments to provide shipment updates and resolve issues.
  • Track and trace shipments, providing proactive notifications on delays or changes to schedules.
  • Negotiate rates and services with freight forwarders, carriers, and other logistics providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all international and local shipping regulations, customs procedures, and company policies.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction within logistics operations.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records of all logistics activities and documentation.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints related to shipments with professionalism and efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in logistics or freight forwarding.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal) in French and English.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of international shipping regulations and customs procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with a specific Freight Management System (FMS).
  • Certification in Supply Chain or Logistics (e.g., CILT).
  • Experience working in the Democratic Republic of Congo or other Central African countries.
  • Additional language proficiency (e.g., Swahili, Lingala).
