Job Description

Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Ltd. is seeking dedicated Production Operators to join our robust manufacturing team in Obio-Akpor, Port Harcourt. As a Production Operator, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our production facility, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality output of our products. You will be responsible for operating and monitoring machinery, assembling components, performing quality checks, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform assembly tasks on various components, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on products at different stages of production, identifying and reporting defects.
  • Load and unload materials and products from machines, conveyors, and storage areas.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, adhering strictly to all safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report major malfunctions to supervisors promptly.
  • Complete production logs, reports, and other necessary documentation accurately.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize production processes and meet targets.
  • Participate in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with equipment changeovers, setups, and routine maintenance as required.

Required Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow instructions and procedures precisely.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to operate industrial machinery.
  • Understanding of industrial safety regulations and practices.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift moderate weights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OND/HND in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial) or a related technical field.
  • Previous experience (1+ year) as a Production Operator or similar role in a manufacturing or petrochemical environment.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Certification in industrial safety or machinery operation.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications for data entry and reporting.
