Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and process transactions accurately and efficiently using the till system.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card, and other payment methods, ensuring correct change and balancing the till at the end of shifts.
- Scan items accurately, apply discounts, and process returns or exchanges in accordance with company policy.
- Provide excellent customer service, assisting shoppers with product location, inquiries, and general store information, always striving for customer satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized checkout area, ensuring shelves are stocked and the store is presentable, assisting with general store cleanliness as needed.
- Assist with stock replenishment on shelves and merchandising displays during quieter periods, ensuring products are well-presented.
- Actively promote Co-op membership and associated benefits to customers, explaining the value proposition.
- Handle customer complaints or issues professionally, calmly, and efficiently, escalating to management when necessary.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and security procedures within the store, ensuring a safe environment for colleagues and customers.
