Key Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified technicians with vehicle inspections, diagnostics, servicing, and repair procedures.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance tasks, including oil changes, fluid checks, tyre rotations, and bulb replacements.
  • Maintain the cleanliness, tidiness, and organisation of the workshop, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Support the management of parts inventory, including receiving deliveries, checking items against orders, and storing them efficiently.
  • Prepare vehicles for customer collection, including final checks and ensuring they are presentable.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines and workshop procedures at all times.
  • Operate workshop equipment and tools safely and effectively under supervision.
  • Assist with moving and positioning vehicles within the workshop and forecourt as required.
  • Learn and develop technical skills by observing and actively participating in various workshop tasks.

Required Skills

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine interest in vehicles and how they operate.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and meticulously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety protocols in a workshop environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational training or an academic qualification in motor vehicle maintenance (e.g., NVQ Level 1/2 or equivalent).
  • A full, clean UK driving license.
  • Familiarity with various vehicle makes and models.
  • Basic knowledge of diagnostic tools and their application.
