Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Procurement Specialist to join our dynamic team in Mgbuoshimini, Port Harcourt. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust procurement strategies to support business objectives and optimize costs.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Negotiate favorable terms, conditions, and pricing with suppliers to achieve maximum value.
  • Manage supplier relationships, fostering strong partnerships and ensuring ongoing performance monitoring.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify new sourcing opportunities and mitigate supply risks.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their material and service requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain to ensure optimal stock management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in manufacturing or heavy industry.
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex contracts and manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on cost reduction and process optimization.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
