Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, scraping, sanding, patching, and priming as required.
  • Apply various coatings, including paints, varnishes, stains, and sealers, using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Mix and match paints to achieve desired colors and textures, adhering to project specifications.
  • Operate and maintain painting equipment, including sprayers, power washers, and scaffolding, ensuring proper functionality and safety.
  • Protect adjacent surfaces and equipment by masking, covering, or relocating items before painting.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for quality, ensuring even coats, proper adhesion, and an absence of runs or drips.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as OSHA regulations.
  • Clean work areas, tools, and equipment after use, and properly dispose of hazardous waste materials.
  • Collaborate effectively with other trades and project team members to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine painting specifications.
  • Monitor inventory of painting supplies and materials, reporting needs to the supervisor.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in various painting techniques and surface preparation.
  • Proficiency in operating brushes, rollers, and airless spray equipment.
  • Strong understanding of paint types, solvents, and finishes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a steady hand for precision work.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and equipment related to painting (e.g., fall protection, respirators).
  • Physical stamina and agility to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work at heights.

  • Reliable transportation to various job sites in the Golden/Denver metro area.
