Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly motivated, meticulous, and experienced Quality Assurance Officer to join our dynamic and dedicated team in Mgbuoba, Port Harcourt. This critical industrial role is paramount for ensuring that all our manufactured products consistently meet the highest national and international quality standards, as well as internal specifications, before they reach our valued customers. As a Quality Assurance Officer, you will be on the front lines of our quality control efforts, responsible for conducting comprehensive tests on incoming raw materials, in-process samples taken at various stages of production, and final finished products. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough quality control checks and perform comprehensive product testing on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished goods according to established specifications, standard operating procedures, and industry guidelines.
- Perform precise analytical tests using various sophisticated laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring the highest level of accuracy and precision in all obtained results.
- Accurately document and meticulously maintain detailed records of all quality control activities, test results, observed deviations, and implemented corrective actions.
- Proactively identify, thoroughly investigate, and promptly report non-conforming products or processes, collaborating closely with relevant departments to resolve quality issues effectively and efficiently.
- Monitor and strictly ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), ISO standards, and other pertinent national and international quality management systems.
- Assist in the continuous development, review, and revision of quality control procedures, work instructions, and product specifications to maintain relevance and effectiveness.
- Regularly calibrate and meticulously maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring they are consistently in optimal working condition and ready for use.
- Actively participate in both internal and external quality audits, providing all necessary documentation, data, and support as required.
- Provide practical training and ongoing guidance to production staff on critical quality control procedures, best practices, and the importance of quality adherence.
- Contribute meaningfully to continuous improvement initiatives and projects aimed at consistently enhancing product quality, process efficiency, and overall operational excellence.
Required Skills
- Proven practical experience of at least 3 years in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role, specifically within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding and practical application knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, GMP).
- Proficiency in various laboratory testing techniques and the safe, effective operation of analytical instruments.
- Exceptional observational and analytical skills coupled with a meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately interpret complex technical data, product specifications, and quality standards.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, including proficiency in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting and inter-departmental collaboration.
- Ability to work diligently and independently, as well as effectively as part of a team, in a demanding and dynamic industrial environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or a closely related science or engineering field.
- Professional Certifications in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt, Certified Quality Inspector).
- Prior experience with LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) software for data management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of safety protocols and hazard identification within an industrial laboratory setting.
