Job Description
Are you a highly motivated and physically capable individual looking for a vital role in the fast-paced world of logistics and supply chain? West Africa Container Terminal (WACT) is seeking dedicated Truck Loaders to join our robust operations team in Eleme, Port Harcourt. In this critical on-site role, you will be instrumental in the efficient and safe movement of goods within our terminal and warehouse facilities. Your primary responsibility will involve the manual and assisted loading and unloading of various cargo types onto and from trucks and containers, ensuring all items are handled with care and positioned correctly for transport or storage. This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be dependable, possess excellent stamina, and be ready to contribute to WACT’s mission of delivering exceptional service and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload a variety of goods and materials from trucks and containers.
- Inspect all cargo for damage before and after loading/unloading, reporting any discrepancies immediately.
- Organize and stack goods properly in designated warehouse areas or on loading docks to maximize space and ensure stability.
- Operate manual and powered material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) as required, ensuring proper training and safety guidelines are followed.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist with inventory checks, cycle counts, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with team members, truck drivers, and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse and logistics operations.

- Proven physical strength and stamina to lift and move heavy items regularly.

Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physically demanding role.
- Previous experience operating manual pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety protocols and best practices.
- SSCE/GCE or equivalent qualification.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and workloads.
