As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of powered industrial trucks, including forklifts, reach trucks, and electric pallet jacks, to load, unload, stack, and move products with precision and care. Key Responsibilities
- Operate various types of powered industrial trucks (forklifts, reach trucks, electric pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload freight from trailers, ensuring proper handling and securing of products.
- Transport products to designated storage areas, ensuring proper placement and stacking.
- Pull and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Perform daily pre-operation inspections of equipment and complete necessary documentation.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the warehouse.
- Verify product quantities and descriptions against manifests and order sheets.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or product damage immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and rotation as needed.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating forklifts or other powered industrial trucks in a warehouse setting.
- Valid forklift certification or ability to obtain one upon hire.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
- Excellent spatial awareness and coordination.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory management systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Experience with various types of material handling equipment (e.g., stand-up reach trucks, order pickers).
- Previous experience in the food distribution or logistics industry.
