Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the company's accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and statutory reporting.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and other financial analyses in accordance with IFRS and Polish accounting standards.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, performing detailed reconciliations and analysis.
- Manage tax compliance, including VAT, corporate income tax, and other relevant local taxes, ensuring timely submissions and adherence to regulations.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Provide financial insights and support to senior management for strategic decision-making.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Actively participate in the implementation and optimization of financial systems and processes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Senior Accountant or Chief Accountant, preferably in a multinational environment.
- Strong knowledge of Polish accounting principles (UoR) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, MS Dynamics).
- Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential for daily operations.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Certification such as ACCA, CIMA, or Polish Certified Auditor (Biegły Rewident).
- Experience in a shared service center or large international corporation.
- Familiarity with Portuguese accounting terminology or experience in a Portuguese-speaking business context is a plus, though not mandatory.
- Experience with process automation and digital transformation initiatives in finance.
