Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and attract new individual and business clients requiring lending facilities within the Rumuokwurusi market and beyond.
  • Conduct thorough financial analysis, credit assessments, and due diligence on loan applications to determine creditworthiness and mitigate risks.
  • Prepare comprehensive loan proposals and present them to the credit committee, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and complete.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Ecobank's lending policies, procedures, and all relevant regulatory requirements throughout the loan lifecycle.
  • Manage and monitor a portfolio of loans, ensuring timely repayments and proactively addressing any potential delinquencies.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, providing ongoing financial advisory and support.
  • Achieve and consistently exceed challenging monthly and quarterly loan disbursement and portfolio quality targets.
  • Actively cross-sell other Ecobank products and services, identifying opportunities to meet clients' broader financial needs.
  • Stay informed about local market trends, competitor activities, and economic developments that may impact the lending business.
  • Participate in community engagement activities to enhance Ecobank's brand presence and foster goodwill.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in sales, business development, or lending within the financial services sector.
  • Demonstrable track record of meeting and exceeding sales or loan origination targets.
  • Robust analytical, numerical, and financial modeling skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and general banking software.
  • Strong understanding of credit risk management principles and lending products.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively within a team-oriented, target-driven environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
  • A customer-centric approach with a commitment to delivering outstanding service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Banking and Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Professional certification in credit management, banking, or sales.
  • Familiarity with the local market dynamics and business landscape in Port Harcourt, particularly Rumuokwurusi.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in local languages prevalent in Port Harcourt (e.g., Ikwerre, Igbo) is a significant advantage.
  • Experience using CRM software and other banking platforms.
