Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Finance Coordinator to join our dedicated accounting office in Roundhay, Leeds. This pivotal full-time role offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong foundation in finance and accounting principles to significantly contribute to the smooth operation of our firm’s financial processes. As a Finance Coordinator, you will be instrumental in managing day-to-day financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing essential support to our senior accounting team. Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, including processing invoices, payments, and collections.
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports for internal review.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.
- Process employee expenses and manage petty cash.
- Liaise with clients and vendors regarding billing inquiries and payment status.
- Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other statutory submissions.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes and internal controls.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (2+ years) in a finance or accounting role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- AAT qualification or working towards ACA/ACCA/CIMA.
- Previous experience working within an accounting practice or firm.
