Trust Merchant Bank (TMB) is seeking a dedicated and proactive Treasury Officer with a specialization in Fund Management to join our dynamic team in Kalemie, Tanganyika Province. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily cash positioning and liquidity, ensuring optimal fund allocation to meet operational needs and investment opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain accurate cash flow forecasts, identifying potential surpluses or deficits and recommending appropriate actions.
  • Execute investment decisions in money market instruments, foreign exchange, and other approved financial products in line with treasury policies.
  • Monitor market conditions, interest rates, and economic indicators to identify potential risks and opportunities for the bank's portfolio.
  • Prepare comprehensive treasury reports, including liquidity reports, investment performance analyses, and compliance reports for senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure strict adherence to internal treasury policies, risk management frameworks, and all local and international financial regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including Risk Management, Finance, and Operations, to ensure seamless treasury operations and reporting.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of treasury strategies and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Manage relationships with correspondent banks, financial institutions, and other market counterparties.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the treasury function, including process automation and new product development.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in treasury, fund management, or a related financial role, preferably within a banking environment.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, money market instruments, foreign exchange, and investment principles.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, and data analysis.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with treasury management systems (TMS) is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English and French (Swahili is a plus).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or professional certification such as CFA, ACI Dealing Certificate, or CTP.
  • Experience with local financial regulations and reporting requirements in DRC.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate financial risks.
