Job Description
Are you a highly energetic and dependable individual looking for a vital role in a fast-paced logistics environment? GIG Logistics is seeking dedicated Warehouse Loaders to join our dynamic operations team in Ketu, Kosofe. This full-time position is crucial to our daily success, involving the efficient and safe movement of goods within our warehouse and during transit. As a Warehouse Loader, you will be an integral part of our logistics chain, responsible for handling a variety of packages, ensuring they are loaded and unloaded accurately and securely. You will work alongside colleagues to manage incoming and outgoing shipments, sort parcels, and maintain an organized warehouse floor. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load and unload various types of packages and cargo from trucks, vans, and containers.
- Sort and stage packages according to destination, size, and type, ensuring proper placement within the warehouse.
- Operate manual and powered material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks) safely and efficiently, following all training and safety guidelines.
- Verify inbound and outbound shipments against manifests or packing lists to ensure accuracy and report discrepancies immediately.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment by clearing aisles, stacking goods properly, and disposing of waste.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and drivers to ensure smooth workflow and timely processing of shipments.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and health regulations, including proper lifting techniques and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and stock rotation as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse operations.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, with a commitment to punctuality and attendance.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail for accurate sorting and identification of packages.
- Basic literacy (ability to read labels and follow written instructions).
- Knowledge of basic warehouse safety procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively and follow instructions from supervisors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 6 months of experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar physically demanding role.
- Experience operating manual material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks).
- Prior experience in a parcel delivery or freight forwarding environment.
- SSCE or equivalent qualification.
