Key Responsibilities
- Perform a variety of cleaning tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal in patient rooms, offices, and common areas.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring adequate supplies are maintained and restocked.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and vacuum cleaners safely and effectively.
- Transport medical waste, soiled linens, and clean supplies to designated areas following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Respond promptly to spills, emergency clean-ups, and special cleaning requests with efficiency and professionalism.
- Adhere strictly to all Kaiser Permanente infection control, safety, and departmental policies and procedures.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff members.
- Document completed tasks and report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to supervisors in a timely manner.
- Assist with room setups and breakdowns for meetings, events, or patient care needs as required.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and pushing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English.
- Basic understanding of cleaning chemicals and their safe application.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Must be eligible for work sponsorship, or currently hold a valid work authorization allowing for employment in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in environmental services, housekeeping, or a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
- Familiarity with healthcare sanitation standards (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA).
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish, Tagalog, or other commonly spoken languages in the community).
