Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet members and visitors upon arrival, providing assistance and accurate information regarding facilities, classes, and services as needed.
- Actively monitor the gym floor to ensure members are using equipment safely and correctly, and that all club rules and regulations are being adhered to.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and orderliness across all gym areas, including exercise equipment, locker rooms, restrooms, and common spaces.
- Regularly sanitize and wipe down exercise equipment throughout the day, ensuring adequate supplies of cleaning materials and towels are readily available.
- Provide basic guidance to members on equipment usage and demonstrate proper form when appropriate, enhancing their workout experience.
- Efficiently handle member inquiries, feedback, and concerns with professionalism and empathy, escalating complex issues to management promptly when necessary.
- Monitor and replenish stock of gym amenities and supplies (e.g., water bottles, personal care items) to ensure a seamless member experience.
- Conduct routine facility checks to identify and promptly report any maintenance, repair, or safety issues to the appropriate department.
- Assist with the precise opening and closing procedures of the gym, including security checks and readiness assessments.
- Proactively promote a positive, friendly, and supportive atmosphere for all gym members and fellow staff, embodying the Bodyline ethos.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 months of proven customer service experience, preferably within a hospitality, retail, or fitness setting.
- Exceptional communication and strong interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as a valued team member.
- Basic foundational knowledge of gym equipment, common exercise routines, and general fitness principles.
- Excellent observational skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail regarding cleanliness and safety.
- Ability to maintain a consistently high level of professionalism, decorum, and positive attitude.
- Physical stamina and agility to perform duties such as cleaning, light equipment repositioning, and standing/walking for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or its equivalent; additional certifications in fitness, CPR, or basic first aid are a significant advantage.
- Previous direct experience as a Gym Attendant or in a similar operational support role within a fitness center.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications for membership management and communication.
