Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Account Receivable Clerk with a strong focus on billing to join our finance team in Mbandaka, Équateur Province. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, verify, and process invoices for services rendered to customers accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Monitor customer accounts for delayed payments and irregularities, initiating follow-up communication as needed.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Generate and distribute customer statements, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies and customer inquiries efficiently and professionally.
  • Assist with month-end closing procedures, including preparing relevant reports and analyses.
  • Maintain accurate records of all billing and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Collaborate with sales, customer service, and other departments to ensure accurate billing and customer satisfaction.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk, Billing Clerk, or similar role.
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and billing procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with an accounting software system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Familiarity with telecommunications billing systems or industry practices.
  • Proficiency in French and Lingala is highly advantageous for local communication.
