Job Description

Rawbank is seeking a meticulous and highly organized Account Payable Officer to join our vibrant finance team in Kikwit, Kwilu Province. This critical role is essential for maintaining the financial health and operational efficiency of our branch by ensuring accurate and timely processing of all payable transactions. As an Account Payable Officer, you will be at the heart of our financial operations, responsible for managing vendor invoices, processing payments, reconciling accounts, and maintaining impeccable financial records in strict compliance with internal policies and banking regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Process all vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper authorization, and adherence to company policies and accounting standards.
  • Prepare and execute timely payment runs for vendors, employees, and other financial obligations, ensuring compliance with payment terms.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and bank accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts payable records, including vendor files and transaction histories.
  • Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes related to accounts payable.
  • Respond to and resolve all vendor and internal inquiries regarding invoice and payment status.
  • Collaborate with procurement and other departments to ensure smooth processing of purchases and payments.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounts payable processes and internal controls.
  • Prepare various accounts payable reports for management review as required.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, particularly accounts payable.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and Lingala (English is a plus).
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification in Accounting (e.g., CPA, ACCA candidate) is an advantage.
  • Prior experience in the banking or financial services industry.
  • Familiarity with local tax regulations and compliance requirements in DR Congo.
