Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all financial operations, including but not limited to budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger reconciliation.
  • Prepare and present accurate, timely financial statements, management reports, and detailed analyses for internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and external auditors.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all local financial regulations, Mozambican tax laws, international accounting standards (IFRS), and Vodacom Group’s internal policies and procedures.
  • Supervise and streamline administrative functions, encompassing comprehensive office management, efficient procurement processes, meticulous asset management, and logistical support.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously monitor robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets, mitigate financial risks, and ensure the integrity of financial data.
  • Monitor cash flow meticulously, manage banking relationships effectively, and strategize to optimize working capital utilization.
  • Actively participate in strategic financial planning initiatives, contributing insights and data-driven recommendations to support informed business decision-making.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small, dedicated team, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Facilitate and coordinate external audits, serving as the primary liaison with auditors to ensure a smooth and efficient audit process.
  • Proactively identify and implement opportunities for process improvement, automation, and cost reduction within both the finance and administration departments.
  • Engage fully in the provided specialized training programs to significantly enhance knowledge and practical skills specific to telecommunications finance, regulatory environments, and advanced administrative practices.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive, demonstrable experience in a finance and/or administrative management role.
  • High proficiency in utilizing accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Sage) and advanced skills in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel for complex financial modeling and data analysis.
  • Strong understanding of core financial principles, international accounting standards (IFRS), and local Mozambican tax regulations.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical decision-making abilities with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proven leadership and effective team management skills, with experience in guiding and developing subordinates.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken) is essential for effective communication.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting effectively at all organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration (MBA), or a relevant professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CMA).
  • Direct experience within the telecommunications industry, a large multinational corporation, or a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in Portuguese (both written and spoken) is considered a highly advantageous asset due to the local context.
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP systems such as SAP FICO modules.
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing process improvements and driving operational efficiencies.
