Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain accurate inventory records for all goods received, stored, and dispatched.
  • Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile them with system data, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving or obsolete items, and report on potential stock-outs or overstocks.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices to minimize waste, damage, and loss.
  • Prepare and submit regular inventory reports, including stock movement, valuation, and discrepancy analyses, to management.
  • Coordinate with warehouse, procurement, and operations teams to ensure efficient material flow and storage optimization.
  • Oversee the proper labelling, storage, and organization of inventory within the warehouse facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies related to stock handling and storage.
  • Utilize inventory management software (ERP system) effectively for all stock transactions, including receipts, issues, and transfers.
  • Assist in forecasting demand and planning inventory requirements to support operational needs and project timelines.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 3 years) as a Stock Controller, Inventory Specialist, or similar role.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
  • Advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical abilities with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in French and English.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving inventory-related issues.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with specific logistics and warehousing technologies or automated inventory systems.
  • Knowledge of international shipping, customs procedures, and incoterms.
  • Fluency in Lingala or Swahili is a significant advantage for local communication.
  • Certification in inventory management (e.g., APICS CPIM, CSCP) is a plus.
