As a Storekeeper, you will be at the heart of our operations, managing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of products, playing a pivotal role in our supply chain efficiency and overall operational success. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the receipt, inspection, and verification of incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of all items in the warehouse, adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using a computerized inventory system or manual logs.
- Conduct regular stock counts (daily, weekly, monthly) and reconcile discrepancies, reporting any variances.
- Prepare and dispatch goods according to sales orders, ensuring timely and accurate picking, packing, and loading.
- Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving or obsolete items, and assist in initiating replenishment orders.
- Implement and enforce warehouse safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and secure storage environment.
- Collaborate with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure smooth flow of goods and information.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified) safely and efficiently.
- Generate regular inventory reports for management, highlighting stock movement, issues, and recommendations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Storekeeper or in a similar warehouse/inventory management role (minimum 2 years).
- Strong understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse operations.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with colleagues and suppliers.
- Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND/B.Sc. in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Familiarity with modern warehouse practices and health and safety regulations.
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for inventory management.
- Forklift operation certification (if applicable to warehouse setup).
