Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the receipt, inspection, and verification of incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery notes.
  • Ensure proper storage and organization of all items in the warehouse, adhering to safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory records using a computerized inventory system or manual logs.
  • Conduct regular stock counts (daily, weekly, monthly) and reconcile discrepancies, reporting any variances.
  • Prepare and dispatch goods according to sales orders, ensuring timely and accurate picking, packing, and loading.
  • Monitor stock levels, identify slow-moving or obsolete items, and assist in initiating replenishment orders.
  • Implement and enforce warehouse safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized, and secure storage environment.
  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, and logistics teams to ensure smooth flow of goods and information.
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified) safely and efficiently.
  • Generate regular inventory reports for management, highlighting stock movement, issues, and recommendations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Storekeeper or in a similar warehouse/inventory management role (minimum 2 years).
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with colleagues and suppliers.
  • Problem-solving aptitude and the ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OND/HND/B.Sc. in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with modern warehouse practices and health and safety regulations.
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems for inventory management.
  • Forklift operation certification (if applicable to warehouse setup).
