Job Description
Are you an experienced Monitoring and Evaluation professional with a passion for humanitarian and development work? World Vision New Zealand is seeking a dedicated and analytical Monitoring and Evaluation Manager (Gestor de M&A) to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves overseeing the design, implementation, and management of robust M&E frameworks for our diverse portfolio of international programs, ensuring accountability, learning, and continuous improvement. While proven experience in M&E is crucial, we understand that transitioning to an international NGO context can require specific knowledge; therefore, comprehensive training will be provided on World Vision’s unique M&E systems, tools, and methodologies. You will play a key role in tracking program progress, assessing impact, and contributing to strategic decision-making that directly benefits vulnerable children and communities globally. If you’re eager to apply your M&E expertise in a purpose-driven environment and grow with a leading international NGO, we encourage you to apply. This is an exciting opportunity to translate data into actionable insights and drive positive change.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive M&E plans, frameworks, and indicators for all assigned programs, aligning with World Vision's global standards and donor requirements.
- Lead the design and execution of data collection methodologies, ensuring data quality, reliability, and ethical considerations are met.
- Conduct regular data analysis, produce insightful reports, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders, including program teams, senior management, and donors.
- Facilitate learning sessions and workshops based on M&E findings to foster a culture of evidence-based decision-making and continuous program improvement.
- Build the capacity of program staff in M&E principles, tools, and practices through training and ongoing mentorship.
- Manage M&E budgets and resources effectively, ensuring optimal utilization and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Contribute to proposal development by integrating robust M&E components and theories of change, demonstrating our commitment to measurable impact.
- Stay abreast of best practices and innovations in the M&E sector, particularly within international development and humanitarian contexts, and integrate them into our approaches.
- Ensure compliance with donor M&E requirements and World Vision's accountability standards, upholding the highest levels of integrity and transparency.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (at least 4 years) in designing and implementing M&E systems for complex programs, preferably in a development or humanitarian context.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and draw actionable conclusions for program improvement.
- Proficiency in M&E software and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, R, Power BI), with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including advanced report writing, presentation abilities, and cross-cultural communication.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and achieving shared goals.
- Sound understanding of humanitarian and development principles, the project management cycle, and results-based management approaches.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential for effective communication across our global network.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in International Development, Social Sciences, Statistics, Public Health, or a related field.
- Previous experience with international NGOs or humanitarian organizations, demonstrating familiarity with global operational contexts.
- Knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese, which would be an asset given the 'Gestor de M&A' in the title and potential for global program engagement.
- Experience with digital data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK) and mobile data collection platforms.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage.
