Job Description
We are actively seeking a dedicated and physically capable Warehouse Loader to join our crucial Receiving and Logistics team at The US Grant Hotel. This pivotal full-time role is essential to the smooth operation of our luxury establishment, ensuring that all incoming goods are handled with precision, care, and efficiency. As a Warehouse Loader, you will be at the forefront of our supply chain, responsible for the vital task of receiving, organizing, and distributing a wide array of products – from gourmet food items and fine wines to linens, guest amenities, and essential operational supplies. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently unload delivery trucks, containers, and other vehicles, utilizing appropriate equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks as necessary.
- Verify the accuracy of all incoming shipments against purchase orders, invoices, and packing slips, meticulously noting any discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
- Inspect goods for quality, integrity, and expiration dates upon arrival, immediately reporting any issues to the Receiving Manager.
- Organize, sort, and store inventory in designated storage areas and warehouses, ensuring proper labeling, rotation (FIFO where applicable), and accessibility.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, orderliness, and safety within the receiving dock, storage rooms, and loading areas at all times, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts, stock rotation, and reconciliation processes to ensure accurate inventory records and minimize waste.
- Operate all receiving and material handling equipment safely and in strict accordance with hotel policies and established safety regulations.
- Prepare and accurately stage items for delivery to various departments throughout the hotel, including culinary, banquets, housekeeping, and engineering.
- Adhere to all established safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques, handling of hazardous materials, and waste disposal procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, vendors, and other hotel departments to ensure timely and accurate distribution of goods.
- Assist with special projects, equipment relocation, and other duties as assigned by management to support overall hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly throughout a shift.
- Excellent physical stamina and endurance for standing, walking, bending, and reaching.
- Strong attention to detail for verifying shipments and organizing inventory.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading invoices and counting items.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, receiving, or logistics role, particularly within a hospitality or retail environment.
- Experience operating pallet jacks, hand trucks, or other material handling equipment.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and inventory management systems.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
