Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager of Operations to join our vibrant team at Shoprite, Jabi Lake Mall, Abuja. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Store Manager in overseeing all daily operational aspects of the supermarket, including sales floor management, stock control, and customer service.
- Supervise, train, and mentor a diverse team of retail associates, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory levels, conduct regular stock counts, and implement strategies to minimize shrinkage and optimize product availability.
- Monitor store performance metrics, analyze sales data, and prepare operational reports for management.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and feedback promptly and professionally to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Oversee merchandise display, ensure proper product placement, pricing, and promotional execution.
- Assist in scheduling staff, managing shifts, and ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet operational needs.
- Identify areas for operational improvement and implement effective solutions to enhance efficiency and profitability.
- Conduct regular inspections of the store to ensure cleanliness, organization, and adherence to visual merchandising standards.
- Support loss prevention efforts through diligent oversight and implementation of security protocols.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 4 years) in retail operations or a similar supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of motivating and developing staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in retail management software, POS systems, and inventory management tools.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays, as per retail demands.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety standards in a retail environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
