GIG Logistics is seeking a dedicated Logistics Dispatcher to join our bustling Suleja operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and dispatch delivery vehicles and drivers daily to ensure optimal route efficiency and timely deliveries within Suleja, Abuja, and surrounding areas.
  • Monitor real-time delivery progress using tracking software and communicate proactive updates or potential delays to customers and relevant internal departments.
  • Address and resolve driver issues, delivery exceptions, and customer complaints promptly and professionally, escalating as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all dispatch activities, including delivery manifests, driver logs, vehicle maintenance schedules, and service reports.
  • Collaborate closely with the warehouse, inventory, and customer service teams to streamline operations and enhance overall service delivery.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all local and national transportation regulations, company policies, and safety standards for all fleet operations.
  • Conduct daily briefings with drivers to communicate operational plans, safety reminders, performance expectations, and any new procedures.
  • Prepare comprehensive daily and weekly dispatch reports for management review, highlighting key performance indicators and operational insights.
  • Assist in the onboarding and continuous training of new drivers on company procedures, dispatch systems, and customer service protocols.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in logistics, dispatch, or transportation coordination, preferably within a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to manage and optimize delivery routes for maximum efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Strong geographical knowledge of Suleja, Abuja, and surrounding regions is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate clearly and professionally.
  • Proficiency in using dispatch software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving aptitude with a calm and professional demeanor.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with industry-specific dispatch platforms or transport management systems (TMS).
  • Knowledge of local and national transportation regulations in Nigeria, including vehicle maintenance and safety standards.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Previous experience with GIG Logistics or a similar large-scale courier/logistics company.
