Job Description

KPMG Mauritius is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Chief of Party to lead a pivotal new project in Mauritius. This critical leadership role involves overseeing the strategic direction, technical quality, and operational integrity of a complex, multi-faceted program designed to deliver significant, sustainable impact across key sectors. As Chief of Party, you will be the primary point of contact and lead negotiator with various stakeholders, including government entities, funding agencies, civil society organizations, and local partners. Your expertise will be crucial in fostering robust communication channels and ensuring seamless collaboration to achieve project objectives. This is an unparalleled opportunity for a seasoned professional to drive impactful change, backed by the extensive resources and global expertise of KPMG. We are deeply committed to fostering leadership excellence within our team, and as such, comprehensive, bespoke training will be provided to ensure your success in navigating the specific nuances of this project and the Mauritian context. This bespoke training will encompass advanced project management methodologies, sophisticated stakeholder engagement strategies, in-depth understanding of the program’s technical areas, and adaptive leadership frameworks, all tailored to enhance your existing capabilities and prepare you for unique challenges.

You will be tasked with leading a diverse, high-calibre team of local and international experts, guiding them towards achieving ambitious goals, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and inclusive environment. Your ability to inspire, innovate, and adapt to evolving circumstances will be crucial in overcoming operational challenges and maximizing project outcomes. We are looking for a leader who not only possesses exceptional project management and financial acumen but also a deep commitment to ethical practice, sustainable development, and capacity building. You will be responsible for the overall success of the project, from initial planning stages through to final evaluation, ensuring all activities are rigorously aligned with contractual obligations, performance metrics, and stakeholder expectations. This includes stringent financial oversight, ensuring optimal resource utilization, adherence to budgetary constraints, and transparent reporting. The Chief of Party will also champion capacity building initiatives within the project team and among local partners, fostering a lasting legacy of enhanced skills, knowledge, and institutional strengthening in Mauritius. Your strategic vision will be instrumental in identifying opportunities for innovation, scaling impact, and ensuring the project’s sustainability beyond its lifecycle, thereby contributing significantly to KPMG’s reputation as a leader in delivering transformative solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of the Mauritian socio-economic and political landscape, or a demonstrated ability to rapidly acquire and integrate such understanding, to ensure project interventions are culturally sensitive, locally relevant, and maximally impactful. Join KPMG Mauritius and become a pivotal catalyst for positive change, shaping the future of critical sectors through expert leadership, strategic foresight, and collaborative partnership.
