W. R. Forde Co. is actively seeking dedicated and hardworking Construction Labourers to join our growing team in Vallejo, California. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, concrete finishers, pipelayers, etc.) with various tasks on construction sites.
- Perform general site clean-up, material handling, and organization.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth using hand tools and light equipment.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Prepare sites for concrete pours, including setting up forms and rebar.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the site supervisor or foreman.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Valid legal authorization to work in the United States or eligibility to obtain such authorization (company may assist in understanding processes for qualified candidates).
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in construction or a related outdoor labor field.
- Experience operating basic construction equipment (e.g., compaction equipment, small loaders).
- Possession of a valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Basic proficiency in English for safety and communication on site.
