Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of assigned projects, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and resource requirements in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Allocate project resources effectively and manage third-party contractors and vendors.
- Monitor project progress, track milestones, and ensure adherence to established schedules and budgets.
- Identify and proactively manage project risks and issues, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication with all project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status, challenges, and successes.
- Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and regulatory compliance.
- Lead, motivate, and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external review.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and best practices for future initiatives.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years (60 months) of progressive experience in project management, with a significant portion in the oil and gas or energy sector.
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with budgets exceeding NGN 100 million.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6).
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., MBA, Engineering Management).
- Experience with agile project management methodologies.
- Familiarity with Nigerian oil and gas regulations and industry standards.
