Key Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and incontinence care.
- Assist clients with safe mobility, transfers, and ambulation, utilizing appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding as needed, adhering to dietary restrictions.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, tidying living areas, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Provide medication reminders and ensure clients adhere to their prescribed schedules.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in stimulating activities, fostering mental and emotional well-being.
- Accurately document care provided and report any changes in client condition or concerns to the nursing supervisor.
- Transport clients to appointments, errands, and social outings safely and efficiently.
- Adhere strictly to all BrightStar Care policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, their families, and the care team.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated compassion, empathy, and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written English).
- Ability to perform essential care duties with professionalism and attention to detail.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Possession of or ability to obtain legal authorization to work in the U.S. (e.g., work visa, green card).
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months of verifiable experience in a caregiving role (e.g., personal care, home health aide, CNA).
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) certification.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to speak multiple languages (e.g., Spanish) is a plus.
- Basic computer literacy for documentation and scheduling.
