Your primary responsibilities will revolve around providing top-tier customer service, safely dispensing various types of fuel, and accurately handling transactions through cash and POS systems. You’ll be expected to greet customers warmly, assist them efficiently with their fueling needs, and offer additional services such as checking tire pressure, oil levels, or water as requested. Beyond direct customer interaction, you will also contribute significantly to maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness of the service station forecourt and surrounding areas. This includes regular cleaning of pumps, wiping down surfaces, ensuring products are well-stocked, and promptly reporting any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, efficient service.
  • Safely and accurately dispense fuel into vehicles.
  • Process various payment methods, including cash, debit/credit cards, and loyalty programs.
  • Provide accurate change and receipts.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the fuel pumps, forecourt, and station facilities.
  • Monitor fuel levels and assist in reporting inventory as required.
  • Offer additional services such as checking tire pressure, oil, and water levels.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) guidelines and company policies.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, security concerns, or safety hazards promptly.
  • Assist in stocking and arranging products in the convenience store, if applicable.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, escalating issues when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or equivalent.

  • Familiarity with fuel dispensing operations and safety protocols.
  • Basic computer literacy for POS systems.
  • Ability to speak local languages (e.g., Igbo, Ikwerre) in addition to English.
