Key Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs and cooks with ingredient preparation, including washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning accurately.
  • Perform basic cooking tasks such as grilling, sautéing, frying, and baking under direct supervision.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized workstation, ensuring all equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and stored.
  • Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, assisting with stock rotation, proper storage, and receiving deliveries.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all food safety and sanitation regulations and HACCP principles at all times.
  • Prepare and portion various food items according to established recipes, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Assist with plating and presentation for both gourmet market displays and catered events, focusing on aesthetics.
  • Support the culinary team during peak service times to ensure timely and efficient food production and service.
  • Properly store food items, label, and date all prepared ingredients and finished products to minimize waste.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
