Key Responsibilities
- Accurately assess vehicle damage, interpret repair manuals and damage reports, and determine the most appropriate and efficient repair methods.
- Expertly dismantle and reassemble vehicle body panels, crucial components, and interior trim as required for comprehensive repair procedures.
- Skillfully straighten bent frames, chassis, and various body panels using advanced hydraulic jacks, specialized panel beating tools, and state-of-the-art alignment equipment.
- Perform precise dent removal, meticulous filling, smooth sanding, and careful priming to thoroughly prepare surfaces for professional painting and finishing.
- Utilize a range of advanced welding techniques (MIG, TIG, Spot Welding) for intricate structural repairs and precise panel replacement, adhering to manufacturer specifications.
- Ensure that all repairs consistently meet or exceed manufacturer specifications, industry best practices, and rigorous safety standards.
- Work collaboratively and effectively with other technicians, including painters and mechanics, to ensure a smooth workflow and a consistently high-quality final finish.
- Maintain an exceptionally clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times, strictly adhering to all workshop safety procedures and protocols.
- Accurately identify and order necessary parts and supplies for repairs, coordinating efficiently with the parts department to ensure timely delivery.
- Conduct thorough final quality checks on all repaired vehicles to ensure complete customer satisfaction and adherence to quality benchmarks.
Required Skills
- Proven proficiency in comprehensive vehicle body repair techniques, including expert panel beating, precise dent pulling, and accurate frame straightening.
- Strong, verifiable welding skills across multiple techniques (MIG, TIG, Spot Welding).
- Extensive expertise in safely and effectively using a wide range of bodywork tools and specialized equipment (e.g., grinders, sanders, hydraulic pullers, alignment systems).
- Exceptional ability to accurately assess damage, interpret technical diagrams, and realistically estimate repair times and costs.
