As a Packaging Assistant, you will work closely with our experienced production line operators, quality control technicians, and logistics teams. Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor packaging machinery under supervision, ensuring efficient and safe production.
- Inspect finished products for quality defects, proper labeling, and adherence to company standards.
- Load and unload packaging materials, including bottles, cans, cartons, and crates, safely and efficiently.
- Palletize and shrink-wrap finished goods for storage and shipment according to established procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering strictly to all hygiene and safety regulations (5S principles).
- Assist in basic machine adjustments and troubleshooting under the direct guidance of senior operators or technicians.
- Accurately complete production logs, quality control documentation, and other required reports.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) without deviation.
- Report any equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or quality issues immediately to the immediate supervisor.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25 kg) regularly and safely.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify visual defects or inconsistencies.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills for accurate documentation and record-keeping.
- Excellent teamwork and communication abilities, fostering a positive work environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and following safety protocols.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and adapt to varying temperatures within a production setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience (e.g., 6 months to 1 year) in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in the food or beverage industry.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and workplace safety protocols.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for understanding machinery operations.
- Ability to read and understand basic operational instructions in French or Swahili.
