Job Description
Are you a skilled carpenter with a passion for precision and a strong work ethic? Build Group, Inc. is seeking a dedicated On-site Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team in Elk Grove, California. This full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute your expertise to a variety of challenging and rewarding projects. As an integral part of our crew, you will be responsible for executing diverse carpentry tasks, from framing and finishing to custom installations, ensuring all work adheres to architectural plans, specifications, and the highest safety standards. Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements.
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, shoring, and other temporary structures.
- Install foundations, floor beams, joists, subflooring, walls, and roofs.
- Construct and install exterior and interior finishing, such as siding, doors, windows, and trim.
- Inspect and repair various wooden structures, including decks, stairs, and railings.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, including saws, hammers, drills, and sanders.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and project specifications.
- Collaborate effectively with other construction professionals, including project managers, supervisors, and other tradespersons.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and cared for.
- Participate in daily safety briefings and contribute to a proactive safety culture on-site.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Carpenter with strong proficiency in rough and finish carpentry.
- Excellent understanding of carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings (blueprints, schematics etc.).
- Proficient in using electrical and manual tools and measurements (powered saws, hammers, rulers etc.).
- Good physical condition and endurance with the ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Knowledge of safety standards and adherence to OSHS guidelines.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Journeyman Carpenter certification or equivalent vocational training.
- Experience with commercial and/or large-scale residential construction projects.
- Familiarity with various building materials and their properties.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Ability to perform basic calculations and measurements accurately.
