Job Description

Congo Equipment is actively seeking a highly skilled, dedicated, and proactive Irrigation Technician to become a vital member of our farm operations support team, specifically in Ilebo, Kasai Province. Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot various types of irrigation systems (drip, sprinkler, pivot, micro-irrigation).
  • Conduct regular inspections and performance checks on all irrigation equipment, including pumps, valves, controllers, and piping.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues within irrigation systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal system function and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Monitor water usage and system efficiency, making adjustments to maximize water conservation and crop health.
  • Maintain accurate records of all installations, repairs, maintenance activities, and inventory of parts.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to farm staff on irrigation system operation and basic troubleshooting.
  • Assist in the planning and design of new irrigation layouts or upgrades.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies while performing duties.
  • Operate and maintain specialized tools and equipment required for irrigation system work.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as an Irrigation Technician or in a similar agricultural maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of various irrigation systems and components.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for training and collaboration.
  • Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in irrigation technology or related field.
  • Experience with automated irrigation control systems and software.
