Job Description
Are you a highly skilled and dedicated Plumber with a passion for maintaining pristine facilities? Hotel Presidential Port Harcourt is seeking an experienced and proficient Plumber to join our dynamic facility management team. In this critical on-site role, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all plumbing systems across our expansive hotel premises. This includes a wide array of tasks from fixing leaks and blockages to installing new fixtures, maintaining water heaters, and ensuring all water systems operate efficiently and safely. We are looking for an individual who is not only technically adept but also possesses a strong sense of responsibility, meticulous attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Your expertise will be vital in upholding the high standards of our hotel, ensuring guest comfort and operational continuity. You will work closely with other maintenance staff, respond promptly to urgent requests, and contribute to preventative maintenance schedules. Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing equipment used for water distribution, waste disposal, and other plumbing services within the hotel.
- Inspect plumbing systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.
- Diagnose plumbing problems, determining the appropriate tools and methods for repair.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on plumbing systems to ensure optimal functionality and longevity.
- Respond promptly to emergency plumbing calls, including leaks, burst pipes, and blockages, minimizing disruption to hotel operations and guest comfort.
- Collaborate with other maintenance team members and external contractors as required on larger projects or complex issues.
- Adhere to all safety codes, plumbing regulations, and company policies.
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed, including materials used and time spent.
- Recommend upgrades and improvements to plumbing infrastructure for efficiency and compliance with health and safety standards.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Plumber in a commercial or large-scale facility setting.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Thorough knowledge of plumbing systems, including water supply, drainage, and hot water systems.
- Strong understanding of plumbing codes and safety regulations.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
- Ability to use various plumbing tools and equipment effectively and safely.
- Physical stamina and dexterity for demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-service oriented approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical certification or vocational training in Plumbing from a recognized institution.
- Experience in the hospitality industry or a similar large-scale residential/commercial complex.
- Knowledge of HVAC systems as they relate to plumbing (e.g., chillers, cooling towers).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a cohesive team.
- Valid driver's license.
