Job Description
TotalEnergies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Engineer to join our dynamic team in Abuja, Nigeria. This pivotal role involves overseeing and managing various engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they meet technical specifications, budget constraints, and schedule requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage engineering projects from initiation to close-out, ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry best practices.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, budget forecasting, and schedule management.
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations for new and ongoing projects.
- Oversee the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of projects, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards.
- Coordinate and liaise with internal departments, external contractors, vendors, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports, presentations, and documentation for stakeholders.
- Ensure strict adherence to TotalEnergies' HSSE policies and procedures throughout all project phases.
- Manage project budgets, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members and stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical, or related field).
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience in project engineering or project management, preferably in the oil & gas, energy, or heavy industrial sector.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Excellent technical analysis, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software and tools.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong leadership qualities and experience working in multi-disciplinary teams.
- In-depth knowledge of industry safety standards and environmental regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or Project Management.
- Professional certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2.
- Experience with upstream or downstream oil and gas operations.
- Familiarity with Nigerian regulatory frameworks pertaining to the energy sector.
- Proven experience with contract management and vendor negotiation.
- Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
