Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects from inception to completion.
- Provide comprehensive technical support to the project team, interpreting drawings, specifications, and design documents.
- Monitor project progress against schedule and budget, identifying potential delays or cost overruns and proposing corrective actions.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies on site.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring their work aligns with project requirements and quality standards.
- Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and material testing to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including reports, method statements, risk assessments, and progress updates.
- Identify and resolve technical and construction-related issues on site, collaborating with design teams and stakeholders.
- Contribute to value engineering initiatives, seeking innovative solutions to optimise project delivery and cost-effectiveness.
- Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, and regulatory bodies to ensure smooth project progression and stakeholder satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Project Engineer or similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, processes, and project management principles.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Solid knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations relevant to construction.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Professional accreditation (e.g., ICE, IStructE, CIOB) or working towards it.
- Experience with construction software (e.g., Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject, AutoCAD).
- Previous experience on large-scale infrastructure or commercial building projects.
- Valid CSCS card and relevant health and safety certifications.
