Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Cleaner to join our team at the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) facility in Mbandaka, Équateur Province. This is a critical role that ensures our medical and administrative premises are maintained to the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness, directly supporting our humanitarian operations. In an environment where health and safety are paramount, particularly within an NGO focused on medical aid, your contribution is vital in preventing the spread of infections and creating a safe, welcoming space for both our staff and the communities we serve.
As a Cleaner, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks designed to uphold a sterile and organized environment. This includes regular cleaning of offices, medical consultation rooms, wards, common areas, restrooms, and external premises. You will play a crucial part in maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies, ensuring proper waste segregation and disposal in accordance with MSF’s stringent health and safety protocols, and promptly reporting any maintenance needs or safety hazards. Your work will directly impact the well-being of patients and staff, creating a conducive atmosphere for effective humanitarian action. Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily cleaning and disinfection of all assigned areas, including offices, medical facilities, restrooms, kitchens, and common spaces, adhering to MSF hygiene protocols.
- Manage waste collection, segregation, and disposal according to established guidelines and biohazard procedures, ensuring appropriate bins are used and emptied regularly.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, reporting needs for replenishment to the supervisor in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning agents and chemicals, following safety data sheets and MSF safety guidelines.
- Conduct periodic deep cleaning tasks, including floor scrubbing, window cleaning, and high-touch surface disinfection.
- Report any damage, faulty equipment, or safety hazards observed in the facility to the appropriate supervisor immediately.
- Assist with setting up and tidying meeting rooms or common areas as required.
- Adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements and all health and safety regulations.
