Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily food preparation tasks according to standard recipes and quality specifications.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of various dishes across different kitchen sections (e.g., hot line, cold station, pastry, butchery).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment, adhering strictly to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Monitor food stock levels and communicate inventory needs to the kitchen management.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with all kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service operations.
- Receive and store food deliveries appropriately, ensuring proper rotation and freshness.
- Contribute to menu development and innovation where appropriate.
- Perform dishwashing duties and ensure all crockery, cutlery, and kitchen utensils are clean and ready for use.
- Adapt to changing kitchen demands and work efficiently during peak hours.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment (restaurant, hotel, or catering).
- Basic culinary skills and understanding of kitchen operations.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices (HACCP principles preferred).
