As a Cash Office Assistant, you will be a vital part of our store’s financial backbone, responsible for the accurate and efficient handling of all cash, cheque, and credit card transactions. You’ll work closely with store management and frontline colleagues to reconcile daily takings, prepare banking deposits, and maintain impeccable financial records. Your role is crucial in safeguarding the store’s assets and ensuring compliance with all company financial policies and procedures. We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running, bringing a strong work ethic and an immediate commitment to excellence. Key Responsibilities

  • Process and reconcile all daily cash, cheque, and credit/debit card transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Prepare daily banking deposits, ensuring all funds are accounted for and secured.
  • Maintain precise financial records, logs, and reports for all cash office activities.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in daily takings, collaborating with relevant departments as needed.
  • Adhere strictly to company cash handling procedures and security protocols to minimise loss.
  • Support store management with periodic financial audits and reporting requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to store colleagues on correct till procedures and cash handling best practices.
  • Manage the safe and secure storage of all cash and financial documents.
  • Assist with other administrative duties as required to support the efficient operation of the store.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong numeracy skills with the ability to perform calculations quickly and correctly.
  • Demonstrable integrity and trustworthiness.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.

Preferred Qualifications
