Africa Global Logistics (AGL) is seeking a motivated Warehouse Assistant to join our dedicated Distribution Support team in Matadi, Kongo-Central Province. Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload, and store incoming materials and products accurately and efficiently.
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing shipments according to specifications and deadlines.
- Perform regular inventory checks and assist in maintaining accurate stock records.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks and containers.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
- Support general warehouse operations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite preferred).
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 25 kg) and stand for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures meticulously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1 year) in a warehouse, logistics, or distribution setting.
- Certification to operate a forklift or other warehouse machinery.
- Knowledge of inventory management principles.
- Familiarity with basic warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Proficiency in French and/or local languages (Lingala, Kikongo).
