Job Description
Are you a highly skilled and passionate audio professional with a keen ear and a knack for technical precision? Haas House Recording Studio is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Recording Studio Technician to join our dynamic team in Springdale, AR. This pivotal role involves the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all recording studio equipment, ensuring optimal functionality and a seamless experience for our clients and engineers. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of analog and digital audio systems, signal flow, and acoustical principles. You will be instrumental in preparing our studios for sessions, assisting engineers during recording, mixing, and mastering processes, and performing routine preventative maintenance to uphold our high standards of audio fidelity. Key Responsibilities
- Set up, calibrate, and tear down microphones, instruments, and other recording equipment for various sessions.
- Monitor and maintain studio equipment, including consoles, preamps, compressors, and digital audio workstations (DAWs).
- Perform routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on all studio gear.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with hardware and software in real-time during sessions.
- Assist recording engineers with signal flow, patch bay management, and session recall.
- Manage and organize studio cabling, ensuring a clean and efficient workspace.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients and engineers as needed.
- Stay updated on the latest audio technologies, software, and industry best practices.
- Document equipment inventory, maintenance logs, and session setups.
- Ensure studio acoustics are optimized and maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with industry-standard DAWs (e.g., Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live).
- Strong understanding of analog and digital audio signal flow.
- Experience with studio hardware, including mixing consoles, microphones, and outboard gear.
- Knowledge of acoustic principles and studio sound treatment.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
