Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced and diligent Security Supervisor to oversee the comprehensive security operations of a premium residential estate dedicated to staff lodging on Lagos Island. This critical role requires a proactive and vigilant individual who can lead a team of security personnel, implement robust security protocols, and ensure the safety and well-being of all residents and property assets. The Security Supervisor will be responsible for maintaining an impenetrable security perimeter, managing access control, conducting regular patrols, responding effectively to incidents, and fostering a culture of safety and vigilance among the security team and residents.
Your primary objective will be to prevent security breaches, deter criminal activities, and ensure a rapid and professional response to any emergency or security concern. You will be instrumental in developing and refining security procedures, conducting training for your team, and liaising closely with estate management to align security efforts with overall estate operational goals. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a strong understanding of modern security technologies and methodologies, and an unwavering commitment to integrity and professionalism. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of security guards, ensuring adherence to established protocols and professional conduct.
- Implement and enforce strict access control procedures for residents, visitors, vendors, and vehicles.
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the entire residential estate, including common areas, perimeters, and staff lodging units.
- Monitor and operate CCTV systems, alarm systems, and other security technology to detect and prevent security threats.
- Respond promptly and effectively to all security incidents, emergencies (e.g., fire, medical, trespass), and alarms.
- Prepare detailed incident reports, daily activity logs, and maintain comprehensive security records.
- Develop and conduct ongoing training programs for security personnel on emergency response, patrol techniques, and customer service.
- Liaise effectively with estate management, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders on security-related matters.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant security regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
- Conduct risk assessments and recommend improvements to existing security systems and procedures.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years experience in security operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity, preferably within a residential or corporate environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in security procedures, incident management, and risk assessment.
- Excellent observational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to operate security equipment including CCTV, alarm systems, and communication devices.
- Sound knowledge of emergency response protocols and basic first aid.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant security certifications (e.g., ASIS PSP, CSMP, or equivalent local security management certifications).
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's Degree in Security Studies, Criminology, or a related field.
- Experience with advanced security technologies and integrated security systems.
- Previous experience working with expatriate or high-profile residential communities.
