Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, create, and present a diverse range of high-quality desserts, pastries, breads, and confectionery items for all hotel outlets and events.
  • Innovate new menu items and seasonal specials, keeping abreast of industry trends and guest preferences.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the pastry kitchen, including production, scheduling, inventory management, and quality control.
  • Manage food costs, minimize waste, and ensure efficient use of ingredients and resources.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise junior pastry staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety, sanitation (HACCP), and hygiene standards in all pastry operations.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other kitchen leads to ensure seamless menu integration and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain all pastry equipment in good working order and report any maintenance needs promptly.
  • Monitor portion control and presentation consistency to maintain high standards across all products.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a reputable hotel or restaurant setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of pastry arts, baking techniques, and confectionary decoration.
  • Strong creativity and artistic flair in dessert presentation and flavor combinations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Solid understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP principles.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
