Key Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs and cooks with various food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients according to recipes and standards.
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness and organization of all kitchen areas, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans throughout shifts.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment, including ovens, stoves, and prep surfaces, is cleaned, sanitized, stored properly, and ready for continuous use.
  • Support in receiving and meticulously storing deliveries of food and supplies, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO) and minimizing waste.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety and hygiene regulations, including HACCP principles, at all times to ensure guest safety.
  • Assist with the setup and breakdown of catering events, banquets, and special functions as required, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Safely transport food, ingredients, and supplies within the kitchen and to various serving areas as directed.
  • Monitor and manage waste disposal and recycling efforts, contributing to the hotel's sustainability initiatives and general kitchen upkeep.
  • Assist with basic cooking tasks under direct supervision, such as boiling, heating, or assembling simple dishes.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions, maintenance needs, or potential safety hazards to kitchen management promptly and proactively.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of kitchen operations and strict adherence to hygiene standards.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
