Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to Golden Tulip Port Harcourt Hotel's standards and recipes, ensuring consistency and exceptional taste.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new menus, special promotions, and culinary events, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques.
  • Oversee and manage daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and presentation.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards (HACCP principles) at all times.
  • Monitor inventory levels, place orders for ingredients, and minimize waste to control food costs.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and F&B Manager to achieve departmental goals and guest satisfaction.
  • Handle special dietary requests and guest feedback professionally and efficiently.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and culinary innovation within the team.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Chef in a reputable hotel or high-volume restaurant.
  • Extensive knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
  • Strong understanding of culinary trends and international cuisines.
  • Exceptional knife skills and culinary artistry.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
